The Flagger Certification Course will teach students standard flagger control references, proper flagging signals procedures, and standard flagger practices for various situations. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive an ATSSA Flagger Certification card which will be good for 3 years of use.
- To provide a safe & efficient work zone for vehicles & pedestrians to navigate smoothly & safely.
- To professionally represent the company & our community in a positive & safe manner.
- Flaggers rate is currently $18.00/hr but depending on certain aspects it can increase to up to $35.00/hr (Prevailing Wage)
- Paid weekly by either check or direct deposit.
(Direct Deposit is best. We cannot guarantee timely delivery by USPS if mailed.)
- TraffiCorp provides the required PPE which is Hardhat & Vest. Loaner paddles (stop/slow signs) are available for daily use but MUST remain on the project.
- Any paddles taken home will be charged to the employee.
- Hard Hat. (Brim facing front. Required.)
- Most plane shirt/top are ok.
- TraffiCorp Issued ANSI Class III Vest (warm weather)
- Any Lime colored ANSI Class III Reflective gear is OK (Cold/Rainy Weather)
- Sturdy Pants. (Jeans, Work rated pants, Cargo pants. NO HOLES)
- Boots that cover your ankle.
- If it is another employee, speak to your Supervisor to see if there is another location on the project.
- If the issue is with the Supervisor, contact HR. You can be transferred to another project if there are openings available.
- Always bring your concerns to your Supervisor first. If you don't feel the issue is not being addressed then contact the Project Manager.
- Be prepared to be specific in your concerns.
- The majority of your training will be on-the-job. Additional training will soon be available through TraffiCorp University.
Scheduling FAQs
- Your schedule for the week will be published within our scheduling app, Deputy, & texted to you.
- It will tell you where to go and generally what you will be doing.
- We do our best to publish the schedule by the end of the preceding week.
- You will need to check every night for any last minute changes.
- Within Deputy, you will need to identify the times & dates you are unavailable to work.
- We will do our best to work around other schedules. You are only required to be available for all shifts if this information is not entered into Deputy at least 7 days in advance.
- For Federal Aid projects with Prevailing Wages we do not offer per diem.
- For standard wage projects it will depend on the project, but typically yes.
- No employee will be forced to work out of town. We do our best to hire locally.
- We do have Prevailing Wage work. The available flagging hours on those projects are typically very little with not much consistency.
- Typically those hours will go to more experienced flaggers as they are usually on Highway projects, not residential streets.
- When scheduling for any project we consider the requirements of the project, the flagger's experience, and the location of the project.
- Yes, however the hours available to you will be limited. You will also need to enter that information into Deputy.
- Flagging is a seasonal occupation with a short lay-off period through the winter.
- You can either wait to be contacted or you can contact the HR department in late January, early February to indicate your willingness to come back for the season.
- You may get to work quicker by contacting us.
- You do not need to apply again if you have not been gone more than a year.
payment FAQs

There are 2 ways you can get paid more:
First way. Become a superior team member & hard worker & display a strong desire to progress in your learning of Traffic Control & work zone operations therefor advancing in the company.
Second way. Be hard working, show up on time, be reliable, listen to your leaders. provide good feedback, & be a positive addition to the team. Doing these things will give you more opportunities to be places on higher paying (prevailing wage) jobs.
- Flagger (Crew Member): This is the starting position for all new hires.
- Flagger (Crew Member Lead): This person has shown the ability to learn, accept direction, has a positive attitude, and the willingness to go the extra mile.
- Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS): Must be TCS Certified. Advancement within TraffiCorp is totally up to the individual.
Our goal is to work with everyone who is willing to grow with TraffiCorp.
- We allow up to 2 advances per year, & only on hours already worked.
- TraffiCorp utilizes the Davis Bacon Retirement Pension Plan for the Fringe Benefit portion of the Prevailing Wage rate.
- The funds earned are deposited into the Plan for the employee and are eligible for withdrawal according to the Plan Summary.
- All employees working on Prevailing Wage projects must be willing to have the Fringe portion deposited into their Davis Bacon account.
- No, This is a Retirement fund, you may cash out at Retirement Age or 90 days after termination of employment (with a 10% penalty).
- All distributions prior to retirement age are subject to federal income tax and penalty.
- You are able to roll the funds to another Retirement Plan or 401K without penalty.
- No guarantees, however the more experience you gain, the more work, higher pay, & rank advancement opportunities made available to you.
